Ingredients and seasonings required in make
  1. Prepare 2 quarts water
  2. Prepare 2 cans/bottles of beer
  3. Use 1 tablespoon salt
  4. Prepare 1/4 cup lemon juice
  5. Take 1/4 cup butter
  6. Use 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  7. Prepare 5 stalks celery (chopped)
  8. Use 2 lbs small potatoes (quartered)
  9. Prepare 2 lbs smoked sausage (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  10. Prepare 5 ears corn (halved)
  11. Use 1 lb clams
  12. Prepare 2 lbs shrimp
  13. Take 6 cloves garlic (or equal minced)
  14. Prepare 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
  15. Use 3 each medium Vidalia onion (halved and sliced)
  16. Use 2 tablespoon Cayenne pepper flakes
  17. Prepare 3 tablespoon red pepper

Add the seafood seasoning to taste and bring to a boil. Add the potatoes and sausage and cook. Add Old Bay Seasoning and mix into water. Add Old Bay seasoning, butter and lemons, halved, and bring to a boil.

Steps to make Low Country Boil:
  1. Bring all liquid and spices to boil in a large pot. Remember, a lot of food is going in here.
  2. Add sausage, potatoes, and onions. Boil for 10 minutes.
  3. Add corn, mushrooms, and celery. Boil for 10 more minutes.
  4. Add the seafood and butter. Boil for 3 to 5 minutes. Clams will open, shrimp turns pink when done.
  5. Either remove all from the broth and serve with a squeeze of lemon or serve in a large bowl with the broth (my preference). I think of the broth as one of my favorite beverages. Enjoy!
