Like sinigang na baboy, Kare Kare is a traditional Filipino stew serving the ultimate comfort food. This hearty dish is a labor of love, but it's well worth making and serving at your next dinner party! Kare-kare is a Filipino slow-cook beef stew made with a thick, savory peanut butter sauce. To some extent, it can also be considered a curry. It ordinarily contains a cut of beef and oxtail—and, occasionally, tripe—plus vegetables like eggplant, string beans, pechay , and banana hearts.
